How this project came to be
I have a friend who is the most feminine woman I know. Her hobby is blending different perfumes and creating skincare products for herself and her friends. One day, she asked me to create pages where she could write down her recipes, to leave as a memory for her children. She wanted Victorian-style pages, with each page having a different background, but harmonious colors. She also had a strong desire to use green antique perfume bottles with a complementary shade of pink, and she wanted everything to have a romantic look. I am sharing the first 9 pages of this project with you.
I will provide you with these pages without text so that you can add your own recipes. The text on the slider is just a sample because artists usually envision a complete picture in their minds. Of course, you can use different fonts or handwrite – let your imagination guide you. These pages are meant just for you, so I kindly ask that you don’t share them with friends because I haven’t even finished this project yet. I just thought that maybe you also need a little romance as a change from these turbulent times.
How to add text to an image
I use Adobe software myself, but it can be a bit too complex and, honestly, expensive for beginners. I would gladly recommend Canva for absolute beginners. It’s quite simple to get the hang of, even if you are NOT super techie, or even a designer. Canva has a free version and a paid version that gives you access to specific features. However, for our purposes today, the free version should be able to do everything you need. So, if you haven’t already – get yourself signed up for an account with Canva.
If you’ve opened a free account there, everything is quite straightforward. I found a nice lady who has taken the time to upload a video on YouTube, explaining everything. You can watch the video here:
